Job Summary
The Equipmet & Logistics Coordinator is a critical operational role at M. Dailey Landscape & Design responsible for the daily readiness, deployment, and tracking of the company fleet and field equipment. As we scale to a two-truck, two-trailer operation with concurrent active projects, this role ensures crews have the right tools and vehicles at the right job sites at the right time — every day. This is a hands-on, accountability-driven position that sits at the intersection of field operations, fleet management, and crew coordination.
Fleet & Vehicle Management
- Conduct daily pre-trip inspections on both fleet vehicles before crew departure
- Ensure trailers are properly hitched, loaded, and road-ready each morning
- Track scheduled and preventive maintenance for all vehicles and trailers — oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and registration renewals
- Report any mechanical issues, damage, or safety concerns immediately to the Principal and coordinate repairs with approved service providers
- Maintain a daily vehicle and trailer usage log including mileage, fuel, and job site assignments
Equipment Inventory & Readiness
- Maintain a master inventory of all field equipment including hand tools, power tools, hardscape tools, softscape tools, and safety gear
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned, fueled, sharpened, and operational at the end of each workday and ready for the following morning
- Track equipment condition and flag items needing repair, replacement, or sharpening
- Manage the enclosed cargo trailer as a mobile tool station — organized, inventoried, and job-site ready at all times
Requirements
- Required — Valid IL License + Clean MVR
- No CDL required (Class C sufficient; CDL a plus)
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
