The Burger Shop is a halal burger restaurant in Fremont, CA, known for delicious burgers and a fun, high-energy vibe! We're growing and looking for friendly, motivated people to join our front-of-house team!
The Role
We're hiring a Cashier/Server to be the face of The Burger Shop — greeting guests, taking orders, running the register, and making sure every customer leaves happy. You'll be cross-trained on our POS and ordering systems, and you'll also learn the basics of our kitchen prep and cooking so you can jump in and help during rushes or emergencies. No prior restaurant experience required — just bring energy, a great attitude, and a willingness to learn.
What You'll Do
- Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately (in person, at the register, and via phone/online orders)
- Operate the POS system, handle cash and card payments, and balance the drawer
- Communicate orders clearly to the kitchen and ensure timely, accurate order handoff
- Keep the front counter, dining area, and drink/condiment stations clean and stocked
- Answer questions about the menu, including halal ingredients and allergens
- Learn basic food prep and cooking procedures (smash patty technique, grill safety, food handling) to support the kitchen when needed
- Handle customer questions, special requests, and concerns with patience and a positive attitude
- Support opening/closing duties as assigned

- Outgoing and social — genuinely enjoys talking with people and making them feel welcome
- Strong customer service instincts — patient, upbeat, and solutions-oriented when things get busy or a customer needs extra help
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math/cash-handling comfort (we'll train the rest)
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Food Handler's Card (or willingness to obtain one — we can help)
Schedule & Pay
- Part time and Full Time roles available
- $18-$20
- Flexible scheduling; weekend/evening availability a plus
