Launch healthcare careers in the East Valley! Pima Medical Institute is seeking a goal-driven Career Services Advisor to join our East Valley campus team in Mesa, AZ. In this fast-paced, consultative role, you will serve as the vital link between our students and local healthcare employers.
Combining recruitment, business development, and student mentorship, you will secure high-quality externship placements for certificate students and assist graduates in landing rewarding, professional medical positions across the East Valley healthcare community.
Externship Placement & Business Development:
Employer Outreach: Proactively identify and secure new externship sites through phone sales, cold calling, local networking, and alumni/faculty connections.
Student Matchmaking: Pair students with appropriate clinical externship sites based on skill checklists, academic performance, and instructor recommendations.
Clinical Monitoring: Conduct on-site visits to monitor student progress, facilitate midterm and final evaluations, and resolve performance challenges.
Career Coaching & Graduate Placement:
Professional Workshops: Facilitate engaging student workshops on resume and cover letter writing, interview prep, soft skills, and networking tactics.
Graduate Advising: Provide ongoing career coaching to non-placed graduates, sharing active job leads and optimizing their search strategies.
Administrative Compliance & Data Integrity:
Compliance Auditing: Ensure all required student documentation (background checks, immunizations, CPR, OSHA/HIPAA certifications) is complete prior to placement.
Database Tracking: Log daily student contacts, employer outreach, and attendance records in Campus Nexus; generate placement tracking reports.
Governance Support: Assist with campus Advisory Board meetings and compile graduate, employer, and externship survey data.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in recruitment, staffing, job placement, or sales.
Education: High School Diploma required (Associate’s degree preferred).
Technical Proficiency: Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, video-conferencing tools, and database management systems.
Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, ethical decision-making, and strong relationship-building capabilities.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of training, education, or relevant experience will be considered.
Hiring Range: $20.80 to $24.96 per hour (Non-Exempt).
