The Humana Institute at the Tilman J Fertitta Family College of Medicine, University of Houston (UH) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a research manager to work on population health-related projects. Sample projects include a) leveraging healthcare costs and utilization data to understand and address gaps in care; b) increasing adoption and sustained use of telehealth, remote monitoring and other digital technologies, and c) mixed methods studies that triangulate the impact of the lived environment on physical and mental health outcomes. The manager will have opportunities to collaborate with research partners, participate in field research activities, conduct data analysis, lead manuscripts and presentations, and develop grant proposals and research designs. Provides expertise in support of research projects in engineering, biology, mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, etc. Prepares and edits research papers, proposal, and reports. Performs advanced testing procedures and analyses of data. May prepare samples for testing. Performs advanced testing procedure and performs analyses of data. Makes uses of a variety of specialized equipment typical within area of specialization. May contribute to grant proposal development. Ensures experiments are performed according to specifications. May make recommendations to changes in procedure, processes, or experimental design. Understands and uses research tools and equipment and utilizes effective management techniques.

2. Reviews and manages progress of projects. Liaison with other areas of specialization to obtain support or technical expertise for projects.
3. Defines procedures or processes to be used in the experimental processes. May personally conduct important and/or technically complex investigations.
4. Responsible for administrative activities, including the supervision and evaluation of personnel.
5. Operates with wide latitude for unreviewed action subject only to institutional policies and guidelines and ethical considerations.
6. Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of personnel.
