Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and certified Immunization Technician to join our healthcare team. As a Nationally Certified Immunization Technician, you will play a vital role in administering vaccines, managing patient immunization records, and supporting public health initiatives. Duties
- Administer vaccines and immunizations accurately following established protocols and guidelines
- Verify patient identity and review medical histories to ensure safe vaccination practices
- Maintain detailed and compliant medical documentation within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Educate patients about vaccine benefits, potential side effects, and post-immunization care
- Manage inventory of vaccines and medical supplies, ensuring proper storage and handling
- Assist with patient intake processes, including recording vital signs and updating medical records
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, processing insurance information, and managing patient flow
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless delivery of immunization services in outpatient or inpatient settings
Skills
- Strong knowledge of immunology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology relevant to vaccine administration
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR/EHR systems) and Medical Documentation practices
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding, and medical records management
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically
- Basic life support (BLS) certification preferred for emergency preparedness
- Hands-on experience in hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical assisting procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and intake procedures
- Inpatient experience or Level II trauma center exposure is a plus for handling diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently within fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or Geriatrics settings
