Duties
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine client needs and treatment plans
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and art or dance therapy when appropriate
- Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to support clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies or co-occurring disorders
- Develop and maintain detailed clinical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations, medical documentation standards, and ethical guidelines for medical records
- Facilitate intake processes for new clients, including comprehensive patient assessments and treatment planning in telehealth or in-person settings
- Offer specialized counseling services such as grief counseling, PTSD care, addiction counseling, chronic pain counseling, or working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management efforts to ensure holistic patient care and coordinate services across outpatient, inpatient, or special education environments
Skills
- Proven expertise in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and art or dance therapy
- Strong experience in crisis intervention, crisis management, and social work practices within behavioral health settings
- Skilled in working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and those with co-occurring disorders
- Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation and billing purposes
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms for delivering remote mental health services effectively
- Ability to conduct diagnostic evaluations using clinical research methods and evidence-based practices
- Excellent communication skills for patient care, medical terminology comprehension, and clinical documentation standards adherence
- Experience with behavioral management techniques, group therapy facilitation, case management strategies, and working within clinical ethical guidelines
