In this vital role, you will operate a 26-foot flatbed. Your expertise in route driving and load management will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate manual-transmission trucks, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Drive various types of trucks, including flatbeds, on local and long-distance routes.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary
- Transport freight across designated routes while maintaining accurate delivery schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Manage paperwork related to deliveries, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on freight delivery and route management
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and specialized equipment, such as forklifts
- Knowledge of different truck types, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Strong understanding of load securing techniques for various freight types
- Excellent driving record with a commitment to safety and compliance with transportation regulations
- Ability to load and unload freight efficiently and safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other required machinery.
- Familiarity with route planning software and GPS navigation tools
