Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service through active listening and tailored product recommendations
- Educate customers on product features, effects, and proper usage, including conducting engaging product demos when appropriate
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, ensuring accurate cash handling and sales processing
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to promote products effectively and enhance the shopping experience
- Assist with inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and supporting product replenishment
- Uphold all compliance standards related to cannabis sales, including verifying customer IDs and adhering to legal age restrictions
- Use strong communication skills to answer customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and clarity
- Promote upselling opportunities to maximize sales while ensuring customer needs are met with transparency and care
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience, preferably in a grocery store or similar environment involving customer interaction
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and retail math for accurate transactions
- Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience is a plus for team support roles
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills to engage customers confidently over various channels
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demos to enhance the shopping environment
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle sensitive transactions responsibly and professionally
- Basic math skills necessary for cash register operations and retail calculations
- Knowledge of cannabis products or willingness to learn about industry-specific regulations is advantageous
