Overview

In this role, you will operate manual machining equipment, interpret blueprints, and ensure the highest quality standards are met through meticulous measurement and inspection. Duties
- Set up and operate manual machining tools such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines to produce precise metal parts.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators to verify dimensions and ensure quality control.
- Perform machine setup by selecting appropriate tooling, adjusting machine parameters, and ensuring proper alignment for each job.
- Conduct manual machining operations with attention to detail, maintaining tight tolerances and adhering to safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and support lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize workflow.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including measurement records and inspection reports.
Skills
- Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in metal machining, CNC machining, and manual machining techniques.
- Skilled in operating machining tools such as lathes, grinders, mills, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and power tools.
- Knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CNC G-code programming is a plus.
- Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks and general CAM programming for toolpath generation.
- Ability to perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other measurement instruments for quality assurance.
- Understanding of machine setup procedures for CNC lathe and milling machines using Fanuc controls or similar systems.
- Mechanical blueprint interpretation combined with basic math skills for accurate fabrication.
- Experience with tooling selection, fixture setup, and machine calibration to ensure optimal performance.

Pay: $28.25 - $38.00 per hour
