Role Overview
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver client-centered, functional therapy services in home-based settings.
You will:
- Implement OT treatment plans to improve ADLs and IADLs
- Support client engagement, safety, and independence
- Adapt activities and environments to meet client needs
- Educate clients and caregivers on functional strategies
- Recommend and train clients on adaptive equipment
- Document services accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate progress and concerns to supervising OTs
Qualifications
- NYS Licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Graduate of an accredited COTA program
- Homecare or EI experience preferred but not required
- Must have experience or willingness to work with pediatric cases
- Strong professionalism, reliability, and communication skills
