Your primary focus will be on conducting re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, and functional behavioral assessments, with some initial evaluations. For Early Childhood, a 0.6 FTE position (three days per week) is available, dedicated to screening and evaluating children transitioning from early intervention, ages 3-5. This role requires travel between multiple preschools; strong communication skills are essential to effectively support families new to special education, collaborate with team members, and facilitate IEP meetings. Deep knowledge of special education law and best practices in early childhood evaluations is expected.
For grades K-4, a 1.0 FTE role (five days per week) involves student evaluations, leading MTSS data team discussions, supporting the IEP process, problem-solving, and facilitating meetings. The ideal candidate is committed to clear, consistent communication and demonstrates expertise in special education law.
Key qualifications:
- Active School Psychologist license in Illinois required
- Experience working with elementary, middle, or high school students preferred
- Familiarity with conducting functional behavioral assessments and evaluations
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Skilled in the IEP process and knowledgeable about relevant laws and regulations
- Previous experience in early childhood or K-12 settings highly valued
