At USK Manufacturing, Inc., we turn raw metal into precision-engineered solutions. From laser cutting and CNC punching to complex welding and final assembly, we pride ourselves on quality, speed, and exceptional craftsmanship. We are looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented Inside Sales & Customer Service Representative to join our team and act as the vital bridge between our customers and our shop floor.
If you love a fast-paced environment, enjoy technical problem-solving, and know how to build strong relationships, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
As the face and voice of our inside operations, your day-to-day will involve a mix of customer relationship management and technical coordination:
- Customer Support & Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for incoming customer inquiries via phone and email. Provide quick, accurate updates on order status, lead times, and shipping.
- RFQs & Estimating Support: Review customer RFQs (Requests for Quotes), blueprints, and 3D models. Work closely with our estimating and engineering teams to prepare and deliver accurate quotes.
- Order Entry & Processing: Accurately enter custom orders into our ERP/MRP system, ensuring all material specifications, tolerances, and delivery dates are correctly logged.
- Account Management: Proactively follow up on open quotes, identify opportunities to up-sell or cross-sell services (e.g., hardware insertion, powder coating), and nurture long-term client relationships.
- Shop Floor Liaison: Coordinate with production scheduling, quality control, and shipping to ensure customer deadlines are met and any production delays are proactively communicated.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or account management—ideally within a manufacturing, metal fabrication, or industrial distribution environment.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or manufacturing drawings is highly preferred.
- Software Savvy: Experience using ERP/MRP software (e.g., JobBOSS, Solidworks, Unipoint) and standard CRM tools. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel is a must).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to confidently discuss technical details with buyers and engineers alike.
- Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for detail—missing a decimal point or a material spec in this industry matters!
