Position Overview
Alexander Montessori School seeks a dynamic and creative Teacher Assistant who will work closely with teachers to support daily classroom activities, assist students with learning, and manage an organized positive classroom environment. The Teacher Assistant plays a key role to support the classroom teacher and students through each day, while building relationships and trust to create a strong learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Assist students individually or in small groups with learning assignments
- Help guide, maintain classroom discipline and encourage positive behavior
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom lessons for students
- Monitor students during lunch, recess, field trips, and other activities
- Assist Lead Teacher with administrative classroom duties
- Keep communication regarding students effectively with Lead teacher, staff, and parents when necessary
- Supervising students at all times, both inside and outdoors- at play, recess, and when with other staff, including Specialist Teachers as assigned
- Supervising arrival and dismissal outside classrooms
- Taking care of attendance registers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or coursework in education preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience working with children ages 1 ½ - 12 years in school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, organization, and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to be certified to drive a 14 passenger bus preferred
