American Gonzo Restaurants is a family of diverse brands and concepts that stretches across 22 locations in Southern California, including Superba Food + Bread, Superba Snacks + Coffee, American Beauty, The Win~Dow, and Pitfire Pizza. Our restaurants are chef and product-driven, designed with their unique neighborhoods in mind, and managed by a committed and talented team of hospitality professionals.
We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our growing department. The right person will be dedicated to our standards and skilled in communicating and supporting a large and dynamic operations team. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources.
Deliverables of this Role:
- Lead regular and off-cycle payroll with precision, timeliness and accordance with California wage and hour laws
- Execute payroll related audits, inquiries and notices for workers comp, year-end, and tax forms
- Manage administration of employee benefits including open enrollment, new hire enrollment, changes, and claims resolution
- Assist with leave management, and workers' compensation claims
- Partner with operations leadership on employee relations matters and workplace investigations
- Track and maintain accurate and complete employee records
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration required; hospitality or retail experience preferred
- History of leading payroll for multiple entities and pay groups, Rippling (HRIS) experience a huge plus!
- In depth knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, California labor laws and HR best practices
- Track record resolving employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a growth-minded environment
