Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Front Desk Agent to join our team in a fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient service and administrative support within our facility. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care, and the ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently. The Front Desk Agent will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while managing various administrative tasks.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service throughout their visit.
- Manage patient intake processes, including verifying personal information and insurance details.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Document patient interactions accurately in EHR systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Assist in the administration of vital signs and basic life support as needed.
- Provide information regarding clinic services, procedures, and policies to patients.
- Handle medical records management, including ICD coding and medication administration documentation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across various departments such as dermatology, urgent care, internal medicine, and emergency medicine to facilitate optimal patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to enhance the patient experience.
Qualifications
- Experience in a medical setting is preferred; familiarity with hospital medicine or urgent care environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support is essential.
- Proficiency in EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient management.
- Strong understanding of intake procedures, vital signs assessment, and medication administration protocols.
- Previous experience in outpatient or inpatient settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on patient service and interpersonal relations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple tasks effectively.
