Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic, professional, and guest-focused Bartender to join our hospitality team. The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, providing excellent guest service, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and supporting a positive dining and lounge experience.
This position requires strong customer service skills, knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, responsible alcohol service, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Compensation for this position is minimum wage plus tips.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to hotel and restaurant standards.
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
- Recommend drinks and menu items based on guest preferences.
- Follow all beverage recipes and ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Operate the POS system to enter orders, process payments, and close checks accurately.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and guest charges following proper cash-handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area throughout the shift.
- Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, napkins, and other bar supplies as needed.
- Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies are low.
- Follow responsible alcohol service practices and check identification when required.
- Comply with all food safety, sanitation, health department, and company standards.
- Communicate with kitchen, servers, banquet staff, and management to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with catering, banquets, events, and hotel functions as needed.
- Clean bar equipment, counters, sinks, glassware, and service areas during and after each shift.
- Report guest concerns, maintenance issues, safety hazards, or incidents to management immediately.
Requirements
- Previous bartending experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, liquor, and basic beverage preparation.
- Experience with POS systems preferred.
- Strong guest service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy periods.
- Basic math skills for payment processing and cash handling.
- Must follow all alcohol service laws and company policies.
- Food handler permit and alcohol server permit required where applicable.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts based on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hotel, restaurant, lounge, banquet, or catering service.
- Knowledge of wine, craft beer, specialty cocktails, and drink presentation.
- Ability to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests.
- Previous experience with Aloha, Micros, or similar POS systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull bar supplies, beverage cases, and equipment as needed.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks during the shift.
- Ability to work in a busy environment with frequent guest interaction.
Compensation
This position pays minimum wage plus tips. Tip amounts may vary based on guest volume, shift schedule, service quality, and business levels.
