The Warehouse Operations Specialist supports daily warehouse operations for Baystar’s HDPE facility. This role is responsible for receiving, staging, issuing, material movement, and SAP transactions while maintaining a safe and organized warehouse.
The Specialist works with Maintenance, Procurement, Operations, and Warehouse Leadership to ensure materials are available to support plant operations and maintenance activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate daily warehouse activities including receiving, issuing, staging, shipping, and material handling.
- Assign and oversee daily work activities for warehouse support contractors.
- Process material transactions accurately and timely within SAP.
- Stage spare parts and materials to support maintenance work orders.
- Maintain warehouse organization, housekeeping, labeling, and storage standards.
- Respond to emergency material requests and plant operational priorities.
- Support maintenance activities during planned turnarounds and unplanned outages.
- Execute cycle counts and support inventory accuracy initiatives in alignment with warehouse leadership.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and support reconciliation activities.
- Maintain proper material identification, bin locations, and preservation practices.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to leadership and Procurement.
- Coordinate material movements for turnarounds, shutdowns, and capital projects.
- Track and support warehouse KPI reporting and operational metrics.
- Promote and maintain compliance with plant safety procedures and regulations.
- Ensure safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Follow all warehouse operating standards, environmental requirements, and site procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse and procurement processes.
- Ensure compliance with Baystar plant standards and operational requirements.
- Perform other duties aligned with the role as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in warehouse, materials coordination, or inventory operations within a chemical, petrochemical, refining or manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control and material handling practices.
- Ability to prioritize multiple operational activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience supporting plant turnarounds and maintenance operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse, materials coordination, or inventory operations within a chemical, petrochemical, refining or manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting plant turnarounds and or maintenance operations
- Advanced experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system.
- Forklift or industrial warehouse certifications are beneficial
PHYSICAL CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the incumbent to:
- Hazardous shipping certification is required
- Follow safety requirements (goggles, PPE, etc.) when inside the production facility
- Standing, walking and climbing ladders as needed
