Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation. Likewise there willl be a secondary function into accounts payable as the payroll position responsibilities will not equate to a 40 hour a week position. In this vital role, you will manage payroll operations, maintain compliance with relevant regulations, and support various HR and payables accounting functions. Your expertise in payroll management systems and financial software will help streamline processes, enhance data accuracy, and uphold the integrity of our compensation programs. Responsibilities
- Process payroll using systems such as Paycom. Familiarity with any typical software program like ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft will be helpful, but experience with Paycom will be welcomed.
- Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger entries related to payroll expenses.
- Administer benefits programs and handle benefits administration tasks related to payroll deductions and contributions.
- Perform data entry with high precision into various financial software platforms, including QuickBooks and other accounting tools.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and governmental reporting requirements.
- Support HRIS systems to update employee information, track timekeeping data, and manage attendance records.
- Assist with non-profit or governmental accounting procedures when applicable, ensuring adherence to specific financial standards.
- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with human resources on payroll-related inquiries, benefits administration, and compliance matters.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information while ensuring all payroll processes meet legal standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian. Again, Paycom experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to payroll processing, benefits administration, taxes, and governmental reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks along with excellent data entry skills (including 10 key typing).
- Experience with human resources information systems (HRIS) for managing employee data.
- Understanding of non-profit or governmental accounting standards is a plus.
- Ability to perform detailed analysis skills for troubleshooting discrepancies in payroll data.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments involved in payroll processing.
