Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools
- Ensure all food safety sanitizing procedures are followed meticulously to maintain health standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks and support kitchen staff with basic culinary duties as needed
- Clear and bus tables promptly, ensuring a smooth flow of service during busy hours
- Handle manual lifting of heavy items such as large pots, boxes of supplies, and bulk dishware safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces
- Support sanitation protocols by regularly disinfecting surfaces and adhering to kitchen health and safety standards
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and food safety management systems
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers and basic cooking tools
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy objects safely
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards
- Familiarity with hospitality or catering environments is a plus; banquet or hotel experience is advantageous
