Job Description:
The Production Manager, Logistics & Operations, oversees daily logistics and operations to ensure seamless project execution, including supervision of crew, crew scheduling, vehicle logistics, packing, shipping, and material handling. As a key leader in Bombshell’s success, this role ensures teams are prepared and accountable during load-ins, activations, and load-outs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in fast-paced environments, and has a strong background in production and logistics within creative or fabrication industries.
Responsibilities:
Scheduling and Logistics Management
- Develop, maintain, and verify daily schedules for the production crew using ConnectTeam and direct communication. The Production Manager will be responsible for the supervision of all production crew.
- Coordinate daily pick-ups, deliveries, in-warehouse movement, and preparation for load-ins and load-outs.
- Plan and oversee the daily movement of company vehicles for deliveries, pickups, and on-site installations, ensuring vehicles are properly maintained, fueled, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Monitor transportation timelines, proactively addressing delays and optimizing resource allocation to meet project deadlines.
Production Coordination with Fabrication Department
- Collaborate with the Fabrication Manager to transition fabricated items seamlessly into production.
- Track and account for all fabricated items, ensuring they are prepped, wrapped, and ready for truck loading.
- Maintain clear communication between fabrication, production, producer, and design teams to streamline workflows and ensure alignment on deliverables.
Packing, Shipping, and Receiving
- Oversee the packing process to ensure items are protected, labeled, and meet quality standards.
- Supervise efficient and safe truck loading, maximizing space while adhering to weight and safety regulations.
- Manage the receipt and inspection of incoming materials, verifying accuracy against purchase orders or client receiving logs and addressing discrepancies.
Communication and Documentation
- Act as the primary liaison between production, fabrication, producer, and design teams, ensuring seamless operations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of schedules, inventory, deliveries, and project progress as it relates to production.
- Provide regular updates to management on operational challenges, progress, and resource needs.
Health and Safety Compliance
- Enforce adherence to safety standards and regulations across all operations.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and training sessions to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Other duties
- The role may include additional responsibilities as needed, such as special assignments, ad hoc tasks, or supportive functions beyond the primary duties.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in production management, logistics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in production or logistics management, preferably in scenic design, live event production, or fabrication.
- Proficiency in scheduling software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Advanced problem-solving, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage internal and external teams effectively.
- Knowledge of safe handling, packing, and transportation practices.
- Familiarity, but not required with driving trucks, forklifts, and other heavy equipment (certification preferred).
- Organized, resourceful, and adaptable under pressure.
- Commitment to quality, integrity, and excellence in business practices.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in warehouse and fabrication environments.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
- Experience reading and interpreting design drawings and familiarity with construction, interior design, or theatrical construction (preferred).
