CDL Class A or B Dump Truck Driver Position
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and experienced CDL Class A or B Dump Truck Driver to join our growing transportation team. In this role, you will safely operate company dump trucks to transport aggregates, dirt, sand, gravel, asphalt, construction materials, and other bulk materials to and from job sites. Drivers are responsible for operating equipment safely, completing required inspections and documentation, and providing professional service while representing our company. This position requires reliability, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A or B dump trucks on assigned routes and construction projects.
- Transport dirt, sand, gravel, stone, asphalt, debris, and other construction materials to designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Operate dump beds, tarping systems, and other truck equipment safely.
- Load and unload materials while ensuring proper weight distribution and load securement.
- Follow dispatch instructions, assigned schedules, and delivery locations.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, fuel records, and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, contractors, and customers.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
- Keep trucks clean and perform routine maintenance checks.
- Comply with all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and federal, state, and local traffic laws.
- Assist with other transportation and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Minimum of one year of dump truck or commercial driving experience preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe commercial driving practices.
- Ability to safely operate manual or automatic transmission dump trucks.
- Ability to work independently while managing daily assignments.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and pre-employment motor vehicle record review.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience hauling construction materials, aggregates, asphalt, or demolition debris.
- Experience working on construction sites or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with local roads, quarries, plants, and job sites.
- Experience operating quad-axle, tri-axle, or tandem dump trucks.
- Heavy equipment experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently climb into and out of the truck cab.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds as needed.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely secure loads and operate truck controls throughout the workday.
- Maintain alertness and focus during extended periods of driving.
