Balloon Museum returns to New York: Following the remarkable success of our exhibitions in cities such as Rome, Paris, Miami, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago, we are excited to bring our unique experience back to New York once again.
We are looking for Hostess/Steward.
Join our vibrant team as a Hostess / Steward at a dynamic Balloon Museum located in the heart of New York! In this lively role, you will be the welcoming face of our museum, creating memorable experiences for visitors through exceptional guest service and hospitality. Your enthusiasm and communication skills will help foster a friendly environment where guests feel appreciated and engaged. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a creative, energetic setting that celebrates the wonder of balloons and inflatable art.
Attention and precision are required, along with strong interpersonal skills and a natural aptitude for working with the public.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors warmly upon arrival, providing excellent customer service and ensuring they feel welcomed from the moment they step through the door
- Manage guest flow by guiding visitors to exhibits, seating areas, or event spaces with clear communication and enthusiasm
- Provide information about museum exhibits, and general inquiries with clarity and friendliness
- Monitor exhibition spaces to ensure artworks are respected and not damaged
- Manage visitor flow, including high-volume attendance
- Provide clear explanations of the artworks
- Supervise rooms and ensure compliance with museum rules in a respectful and courteous way
- Have a strong knowledge of the exhibition and each room
- Use a microphone when required
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in food service, restaurants, hotels, or similar hospitality environments is highly preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiastic, approachable, and customer-oriented attitude
- Professionalism and reliability
- Ability to manage stress and remain composed in busy environments
- Confidence in enforcing rules with courtesy and clarity

Expected hours: Up to 40 hours a week. Shifts may change from week to week depending upon business needs.
Weekend availability is highly preferred for this position.
