American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Med/Surg position in Urbana, IL, requiring a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and Level 1 Trauma background.

Cardiovascular Med/Surg unit caring for post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients
-
Patient population includes post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients
-
Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
-
5–6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
-
Holiday coverage on a department rotation basis
-
No floating requirements
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Active IL RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)

Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)

Minimum 3 years of relevant RN experience

Epic EMR experience required

Level 1 Trauma experience required

ASN required; BSN preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Provide direct post-operative care to CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients

Responsibilities include completing admission assessments, developing and modifying individualized care plans, and performing hourly rounding

Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation to support the broader healthcare team

Contributes to peer development through constructive feedback and collaborative knowledge sharing

Candidates who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
