Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Process sales transactions efficiently while handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods
- Upsell menu items including cocktails, wines, spirits, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and assisting with sanitation protocols
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery while managing multiple tables effectively
- Demonstrate extensive beverage knowledge including spirits, wine pairings, cocktail mixing, and drink service techniques
- Assist with food handling and preparation when needed, supporting overall restaurant operations
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally
Experience
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on fine dining preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
- Strong background in customer service, with excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor
- Prior experience with cocktail making, wine knowledge, spirits service, and upselling techniques is advantageous
- Ability to manage time efficiently during busy periods while maintaining high-quality service standards
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling protocols
- Experience in hospitality roles such as host/hostess or cashier enhances your ability to excel as a server
- Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing sales reports effectively
