Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all Department of Transportation
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrival at each destination.
- Load, unload, and secure merchandise or packages using proper heavy lifting practices and automobile transportation techniques.
- Interact professionally with customers, providing excellent service and addressing inquiries or concerns with clear communication skills.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging sales techniques to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records while organizing daily schedules for optimal efficiency.
- Follow all safety protocols during heavy lifting, merchandising tasks, and vehicle operation to prevent accidents or injuries.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a strong understanding of route driving principles.
- Knowledge of pricing strategies and the ability to apply math skills for transactions or measurements.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations governing commercial vehicle operation and transportation safety standards.
- Strong organizational skills for route planning, merchandise handling, and record keeping.
- Experience in sales or upselling techniques to enhance customer interactions and increase revenue.
- Background in merchandising or inventory management is a plus.
- Military experience involving logistics or transportation is highly valued for its discipline and operational expertise.
