JOB The City of Greenville has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Sustainability Coordinator. This position will play a vital role in the organization, responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of sustainable initiatives for City departments and functions.
FLSA status: Exempt
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Develops and implements sustainability initiatives that advance City goals related to waste reduction, recycling contamination reduction, fleet electrification, building optimization, resource conservation, and operational efficiency;

Partners with other City departments to measure and monitor carbon emissions and waste from municipal operations and offer recommendations on emission and waste reduction strategies;

Researches and applies for grants and funding opportunities to support sustainability projects and initiatives within the City;

Develops environmental education programs and provides training, education, and outreach to staff and the public on sustainability best practices and initiatives;

Develops applicable policies and procedures;

Monitors monthly utility data and recommends adjustments and improvements;

Investigates climate and energy best practices and reports information to appropriate staff;

Monitors latest trends and technologies in sustainability and recommends innovative solutions to enhance environmental performance;

Perform other related duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. (Note: A valid driver's license is a current driver's license that is not revoked, suspended, or subject to limited restoration or conditional operation privileges).
