We are currently seeking a Senior Vice-President/General Manager or Business Unit Leader in Dallas, TX. to join our family.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Provides advice and direction to division personnel toward their professional development
- Creates and monitors divisional budget, prepares reports for President/CEO and COO
- Assists in the development and securing of new business; partners with other General Managers
- Reviews cost analysis of each project on a monthly basis and determines and implements corrective action if necessary
- Builds customer relationships and an industry network
- Supports diversity by monitoring progress toward EEO goals
- Establishes and implements short-term and long-range goals with overall corporate strategy
- Leads the hiring process for the assigned office
- Develops and maintains a strong industry network; participates actively in industry and civic organizations to promote corporate citizenship
- Evaluates the performance of the division staff
- Ensures company policies and division procedures are understood and implemented consistently
- Assists in project pursuit process (direction to Business Development, evaluate potential project for profitability, contract terms, conditions, staffing, risks, competition)
- Reviews major and complex projects to be bid or negotiated; works closely with preconstruction teams, the President/CEO and COO
- Prepares, monitors, and approves various reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Resolve operating problems and difficulties
- Champions safety on all projects and ensures adherence to all company safety policies
- Plans, staffs, and supervises all assigned division activities through appropriate delegation to division personnel
- Must be willing to travel if required
- On a yearly basis, develop the business plan for the coming year and review with the CEO, COO and CFO.
- Works with Human Resources on all personnel-related actions
- Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationships to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.
- Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, mission and values
- Must be knowledgeable about and follow the company's safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular, consistent and punctual attendance in accordance with the position’s schedule and operational needs.
- Maintain professional, respectful, and cooperative working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and others to support effective teamwork and business operations.
- Must be willing to travel, if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration or related field from four-year College or University and 15-20 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
