Gateway Regional Medical Center is looking for a part-time Behavioral Health Technician to join our Behavioral Health Services team on nights. You'll work directly with patients facing mental health, behavioral, or substance use challenges - supporting treatment plans, leading therapeutic activities, and providing the kind of consistent, compassionate presence that helps people feel safe and supported.
This is a great fit for someone with patience, empathy, and strong communication skills who wants meaningful, hands-on work in behavioral health without a full-time commitment.
What You'll Do

Assist in implementing patient treatment plans

Monitor and document patient behavior and progress

Lead therapeutic activities that support coping skills and treatment goals

De-escalate crisis situations calmly and safely

Provide emotional support to patients throughout their care

Collaborate closely with therapists, nurses, and the broader care team

Help maintain a safe, supportive unit environment
What You Bring

High school diploma or equivalent

Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)

Willingness to complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training within 1 month of hire

Previous behavioral health experience preferred

Strong communication, patience, and empathy
