Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products throughout the store.
- Operate the cash register efficiently, handling cash transactions and processing payments accurately.
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions and product offerings to effectively communicate with customers.
- Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise to ensure the store is well-presented.
- Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote new items.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting discrepancies as needed.
- Provide guidance and support to new team members, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
- Uphold company policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and clean shopping environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales or a similar customer service role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and operating cash registers.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a broader customer base.
- Basic understanding of retail math for inventory management and sales tracking.
- Experience in supervising or training staff is advantageous.
- Knowledge of grocery store operations is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to perform product demonstrations confidently and enthusiastically.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail when stocking shelves and managing inventory.
