Altoona Beauty School has been helping students turn their passion for beauty into rewarding careers for more than 65 years. We offer professional training in Cosmetology, Esthetics, Nail Technology, and Teacher Training.
As our school continues to grow, we are looking for a confident, organized, and personable Admissions & Administrative Representative to join our team.
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to welcome prospective students, conduct engaging school tours, and guide applicants through each step of the enrollment process.
This person will often be a prospective student’s first connection with Altoona Beauty School. The ideal candidate can build trust, listen carefully to each person’s career goals, explain our programs clearly, and provide consistent follow-up from the initial inquiry through enrollment and the first day of class.
This position also provides administrative support to help the admissions process and daily school operations remain organized and efficient.
Primary Responsibilities
Admissions and Enrollment
- Respond promptly and professionally to prospective-student inquiries by phone, text, email, and in person
- Learn about each prospective student’s goals and help them identify the program that best fits their interests
- Schedule and conduct informative, engaging tours of the school
- Explain program requirements, schedules, class-start dates, tuition, payment options, and the enrollment process
- Present the school’s learning environment, student experience, and career-training opportunities accurately and enthusiastically
- Build genuine relationships with prospective students and help them feel confident about taking the next step
- Maintain consistent follow-up with leads who are considering enrollment
- Assist applicants with completing applications, enrollment documents, and other required forms
- Monitor incomplete applications and follow up regarding missing information
- Coordinate with school leadership and other team members to ensure that enrollment requirements are completed
- Maintain accurate records of inquiries, appointments, tours, applications, follow-ups, and enrollments
- Assist with new-student orientation, class-start preparation, and onboarding
- Continue supporting newly enrolled students as they transition into school
- Work toward individual and school enrollment goals while maintaining an honest, student-focused approach
Administrative Support
- Enter and update prospective-student and enrollment information in school systems
- Prepare enrollment documents, correspondence, spreadsheets, and reports
- Organize and maintain confidential applicant and student files
- Assist with phone calls, emails, recordkeeping, and other administrative responsibilities
- Communicate important information and reminders to applicants and students
- Support school events, orientations, open houses, and community outreach activities
- Assist school leadership with special projects and other operational needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in admissions, enrollment, education, sales, customer service, recruiting, hospitality, or office administration preferred
- Experience conducting tours, presentations, consultations, or enrollment appointments is helpful
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to commute reliably to Altoona, Pennsylvania
Beauty-industry or school-admissions experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who is personable, motivated, organized, and passionate about helping others begin a new career.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
