Registered Dietitian – Weekend Hospital Coverage (Summer Assignment)
Dietitians of Orange County is seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) to provide weekend support at two acute care hospitals located in Whittier and San Gabriel, California.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RD looking to supplement their current schedule with weekend hours over the summer while gaining valuable acute care experience.
Position Overview
- Provide weekend clinical nutrition services at hospitals in Whittier and San Gabriel
- Conduct nutrition assessments, follow-up visits, and documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to support patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely charting
- Ensure compliance with all hospital and professional practice standards
Schedule
- Weekend coverage (Saturdays and Sundays)
- Short-term summer assignment (potential to continue in the fall depending on facility needs)
- Expected duration: approximately 2–3 months
- Consistent weekend support needed through the summer months
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian credential (RD/RDN) required
- Acute care hospital experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different hospital environments
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
