Burr Bench Technician / Shipping and Receiving Coordinator Backup

Job Description
This role involves precision work, removing sharp edges and burrs from machined components (various metals and alloys) to guarantee the highest quality products. This role will include a variety of different job tasks including work at the bench, inspecting machined components, operating dot peen engravers, lift trucks, and assisting with moving and shipping products. This position serves as the designated backup for the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator and is expected to maintain the knowledge and proficiency necessary to perform those duties whenever operational needs are required.
Responsibilities
- Utilize portable grinders and miscellaneous hand tools to file, grind, buff, or scrape sharp edges, burrs, etc. from workpieces.
- Perform deburring, finishing, inspection and related burr bench operations.
- Categorize, mark, or tag finished work and manually transport materials.
- Uses and operates most hand tools and equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Adhere to instructions and handle parts according to the provided router.
- Assemble and consolidate orders and prepare goods for shipment.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Serves as designated backup for the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator.
- Maintain proficiency in shipping and receiving processes to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Complete shipping documents (i.e. packing slips, BOL, SLIs, etc).
- Works safely always.
- Any other tasks assigned by management.
Skills
- Forklift experience required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to handle, load, and unload parts up to 50,000 lbs.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Able to bend, squat, climb, reach, push/pull and sit for periods throughout the day.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Attention to detail and safety focus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with an ERP system is a plus.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
