As a dedicated salon specializing in natural hairstyles, we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and empowering environment for both our stylists and clients. We hold a three-month training program for anyone who we feel furs our team culture and is willing to learn. Hours increase in correlation with the completion of assigned training regiment. At the completion of the probationary period, stylist will be paid a sign-on bonus.
About the Role:
The Stylist is a mid-level position that reports to the Floor Lead. They can do two-strand twists and loc grooming and flat twists , They learn new styles quickly in keeping with TWST Bar standards. They may operate in a leadership role as a Floor Lead or as an Onboarding Instructor. They are required to take in-house continued education classes and pass exams with 80% or higher.
Responsibilities/ Tasks:
- Record times for styles
- Take photo and/or video of all clients
- Check out clients
- Give clients advice on maintaining styles
- Let clients know what products (if any) to get
- Communicate with Booking Concierge Team in Connectteam
- Shampoo clients hair
- Assist fellow stylists when time permits
- Style clients hair
- Converse with clients
- Fill out closing sheet
- Clean up area to TWST Bar standards before leaving
- Take in-house continued education classes
- Attend 80% of team wide meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Job requirements:
- Seeking a career in the hair industry.
- A minimum of 2 years styling experience
- A minimum of 1 year salon experience preferred
- Great attention to detail
- Physical stamina to remain on your feet for extended periods and perform hands-on services throughout the duration of a shift
- Proficiency in at least two of the following services: two strand twists, loc grooming, and flat twist.
- A desire to foster a sense of community and belonging
- Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite, Zoom, and other technology.
- Must be punctual, have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, able to embrace challenges
- Enjoy working on a team or is looking for a team-centered environment
This position is for anyone who has at least some salon experience in the textured hair industry and is looking for stability and an encouraging team environment. Our marketing team focuses on bringing you clients, our client concierge handles all your clients on-boarding and our stylists get to focus on styling. We hold in-house classes and pay for stylists to take external classes from other leaders in our industry, even if that means traveling outside of our state.
