American Traveler is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist for a Cath Lab / EP position at a Level III Trauma Center in Puyallup, WA, requiring ARRT or RCIS certification and experience with diagnostic/interventional cardiac and EP procedures.

Acute care hospital setting with 2 cardiac catheterization labs at a 375-bed Level III Trauma Center in Puyallup, WA
-
Cath Lab procedures include diagnostic/interventional cath, LHC/RHC, NSTEMI/STEMI, Impella, IABPs, Rotablator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, temp pacers, peripheral (legs) diagnostic/intervention, and loop recorders
-
EP procedures include Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, and generator changes
-
Average of 8 cases per day
-
10-hour day shifts; shift time is either 6:00 AM–4:30 PM or 7:00 AM–5:30 PM depending on call assignment, with a rotating day off each week

On-call required: once per weekday (Mon–Thu), end of shift until 7:00 AM the following morning; every 6th weekend (Fri–Sun), end of shift Friday until Monday at 7:00 AM

30-minute call response time required; no dedicated sleep room, though the Admit/Recovery unit may be used if necessary

Possibility of floating to a nearby Cath Lab approximately 15 minutes away, up to once per week with advance notice

EMR: Epic; hemodynamic monitoring system: Merge (experience preferred)
-
Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Picom PACS, and GE Alea C-arm (experience not required)

Current BLS and ACLS required
-
ARRT or RCIS certification required; WA state license required if applicable

Cath Lab-specific experience required; first-time travelers must have 2+ years of experience, while travelers with prior travel experience may be considered with 1 year

Proficiency in scrubbing and operating the table simultaneously

Experience with the full range of diagnostic, interventional, and EP procedures listed in the job details

Monitoring experience preferred

Merge hemodynamic system experience preferred

Two supervisor-level references required prior to start (one may be submitted at time of consideration)

First-time travelers are considered for this position with 2+ years of Cath Lab experience

Orientation begins with a facility-wide new employee orientation on day one, followed by department training for the remainder of the first week; call may be taken on a buddy basis during week one, with independent call beginning in week two
-
Support staff includes a charge nurse/lead tech, scheduler, respiratory therapy (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), intensivists, on-call cardiologist, RRT and code team, and a unit manager present during the week

Travelers are expected to assist with transporting their own patients who are on a tele monitor

Call schedule is managed by the lead tech

One holiday per contract is expected, on a call-only basis

RTO requests are subject to manager approval

Scrubs and lead aprons are provided; extended sizing is available for scrubs but not for lead
