Pacific Crest Services is seeking an Agency Relations Manager (ARM) specializing in Onboarding & Development. In this role, you will serve as the primary operational anchor and strategic growth partner for independent insurance agencies freshly integrated into our network. Your mission is to accelerate speed-to-market, maximize core platform adoption, and systematically guide member agencies through their critical steps of operation. This position blends technical onboarding facilitation, operational consulting, and performance accountability to ensure newly appointed agency owners scale efficiently.
Core Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Technical Provisioning & First-Quote Velocity: Own the end-to-end technology provisioning lifecycle. Coordinate single sign-on access, comparative rater setups, and platform configurations to ensure new member agencies are functionally operational within 14 days of appointment. Actively drive the target metric of minimizing time-to-first quote across your assigned portfolio.
- The Market Sprint: Design, deploy, and monitor an aggressive production sprint tailored to each incoming agency. Assist principals in navigating early carrier appointments, establishing rating workflows, and translating immediate pipelines into written premium.
- Strategic Pipeline & Infrastructure Consulting: Consult directly with independent agency principals to establish localized marketing frameworks and cross-selling structures. Provide strategic guidance as agencies grow, advising on basic workflows, agency management systems (AMS) optimization, and structural onboarding of internal support staff.
- Operational Autonomy & Portfolio Performance Tracking: Train agency principal and /or personnel to navigate core carrier portfolios and master underwriting appetites, reducing systemic friction. Track rolling performance metrics across your assigned portfolio to ensure agencies achieve healthy year-over-year production momentum and smoothly transition into mature operating models.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in property and casualty (P&C) insurance, carrier-side agency distribution, or independent agency operations.
- Deep functional familiarity with modern insurance technology stacks, including comparative rating software, agency management systems (AMS), and internal performance tracking CRMs.
- Proven consultative capability, with the executive presence required to coach independent business owners, decipher premium analytics, and structure actionable growth pipelines.
- Strong communication style balancing relationship-building with a metrics-driven approach to tracking adoption rates and early production milestones.
Initial 60-Day Path-to-Productivity Framework
To protect network compliance and ensure full operational continuity, the incoming manager will complete a structured integration schedule:
- Days 1–30 (Internal Systems & Portfolio Mastery): Focused entirely on internal operational capabilities. Complete intensive training on core carrier underwriting criteria, network software stacks, comparative rater engines, and historic portfolio performance metrics. No unassisted external client-facing outreach is conducted during this initial phase.
- Days 31–60 (Strategic Handoff & Portfolio Deployment): Execute a managed handoff strategy alongside internal leadership. Participate in joint introductory sessions and warm pipeline transfer reviews to inherit regional relationships safely. By Day 60, assume complete individual account management autonomy over the assigned portfolio.
