Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene, patient education, and infection control, with a passion for delivering exceptional care. As a key member of our practice, you will be responsible for providing preventive dental services, educating patients on oral health, and supporting overall clinical operations to ensure a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, to ensure safe treatment procedures.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while ensuring adherence to radiation safety protocols.
- Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and comfort.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support the dental team by managing documentation review, medical coding, and ensuring compliance with healthcare infection control standards.
Experience
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current state certification.
- Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings preferred.
- Familiarity with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry and working with children is a plus.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention management and healthcare infection control practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively and foster a welcoming environment.
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
