Overview
The Senior Power Electronics Engineer serves as a technical leader responsible for the architecture, design, development, integration, and validation of advanced power electronics systems. This role drives innovation across complex power conversion programs, provides technical leadership to engineering teams, mentors junior engineers, and ensures solutions meet customer, regulatory, quality, and business requirements. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in power conversion design, strong analytical capabilities, and a proven ability to lead engineering efforts from concept through production.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, development, and integration of complex power electronics systems.
- Design advanced isolated and non-isolated power conversion circuits.
- Develop system-level power architectures and converter specifications.
- Perform advanced simulation, modeling, and analysis of power electronics designs.
- Lead design verification, qualification activities, and root cause investigations.
- Guide PCB layout activities and establish engineering design best practices.
- Evaluate technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical leadership during design reviews, customer engagements, and program milestone reviews.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers while fostering technical excellence across the team.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, and Operations throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support proposal development, technical estimating, and customer quotation activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, innovation efforts, and engineering standardization.
- Support manufacturing through complex production and field-related technical issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in power electronics design and development.
- Demonstrated expertise designing high-performance power conversion systems.
- Extensive experience with SPICE, SIMPLIS, Saber, MATLAB, MathCAD, or equivalent simulation tools.
- Advanced knowledge of converter topology selection, control systems, EMI/EMC, thermal analysis, and reliability engineering.
- Experience leading complex engineering programs and technical reviews.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience supporting proposal development and customer technical discussions.
- Prior experience mentoring engineers and leading multidisciplinary product development teams.

Pay: $135,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
