Hotel Maintenance staff members are essential to ensuring the physical functionality and safety of the facility. Their responsibilities include:
- Maintenance of Systems: Overseeing key systems like hot water systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, lighting, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and other critical systems to ensure everything is functioning efficiently.
- Work Order Response: Responding to work orders in an organized and efficient manner to resolve maintenance issues promptly.
- Preventative Maintenance: Performing regular and routine preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend the life of equipment and systems.
- Vendor Coordination: Coordinating repair and maintenance activities with outside vendors, ensuring that external services align with hotel needs and schedules.
- Specialized Knowledge: Bringing specialized expertise in areas like plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, pool maintenance, and more, allowing for the performance and supervision of in-house projects that require advanced technical skills.
- Snow Removal: Managing snow and ice removal from walkways, and entrances during the winter season to ensure guest safety and accessibility.
- Painting: Performing interior and exterior painting tasks to maintain the hotel's appearance and ensure a welcoming environment.
- Plumbing: Ensuring the proper functioning of plumbing systems, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, repairing pipes, and maintaining water supply systems throughout the hotel.
- Electrical: Handling electrical repairs and maintenance, including fixing lighting issues, electrical outlets, circuit breakers, and ensuring the hotel’s electrical systems are safe and functioning properly.
- General Carpentry Repairs: Handling various carpentry repairs, including fixing furniture, doors, and structural components, to maintain the integrity and aesthetics of the building.
- Grounds Maintenance: Overseeing the upkeep of the hotel’s outdoor areas, including maintaining walkways, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and appearance of the grounds. This also includes seasonal tasks like leaf removal and ensuring outdoor spaces are well-maintained year-round.
