Merrill Mechanical is seeking a full time service technician who can install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Ability to perform routine maintenance checks to ensure proper system functionality, while adhering to our customers needs is paramount.
A successful candidate should possess a positive attitude, be self motivated and willing to take the initiative needed to complete all tasks assigned. Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Gas license, refrigeration license and drivers license a must. Oil license, plumbing license, electrical license, or heat pump experience a huge plus.
Pay is commensurate with experience and licensing. Possibility of company vehicle to the right candidate. Benefits available after probationary period.
Your Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot boilers, furnaces, water heaters, and heat pumps.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems that occur by reviewing diagnostics and using the proper tools to complete repairs
- Provide final inspections of systems once repairs are completed to ensure all equipment is operating safely
- Complete appropriate daily paperwork for each service call
- Ensure the service truck is in good working order and reliable
- Perform other duties as required to maintain and enhance departmental productivity
- Provide superior customer service
Your Skills:
- Ability to work well with others; good organization and communication skills; attention to detail and strong customer service
- Frequent driving, climbing out of vehicle working in
- Ability to work in confine Spaces, heavy lifting and ability to work at heights ranging up to 50 ft
- Ability to install various types of heating equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
- Strong decision-making, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within district as needed
- VT licensed propane piping and service technician
- EPA Universal certification
- Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver tools and equipment, including extension ladders, up to 100 lbs
- Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach into confined spaces, and perform twisting, pushing, and pulling tasks
- Must maintain physical stamina and endurance for repetitive tasks and extended activity
- Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and climb ladders throughout the day
