Job Overview:
Vance County Early College is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Math Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the world of mathematics, develop critical thinking skills, and foster a love for learning. As a Math Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, managing classroom behavior, and helping students achieve academic success in alignment with state standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging math lessons that align with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Mathematics.

Teach various levels of mathematics, including but not limited to Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.

Utilize diverse instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including differentiated instruction for students with varying abilities.

Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction as necessary to promote student growth.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic and social development.

Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress with students, parents, and school administration.

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate math concepts across various subjects and enhance the overall educational experience.

Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching mathematics.

Support students outside of class through tutoring, extra help sessions, and academic advisement as needed.

Enforce school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.

North Carolina Teaching License in Secondary Mathematics or eligibility for certification.

Experience teaching math at the high school level preferred, but new teachers are encouraged to apply.

Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and the ability to explain complex ideas in an accessible way.

Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, students, and parents.
Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with 21st-century teaching tools, such as smartboards, interactive simulations, and digital assessments.
