Summary
The Water Authority is seeking qualified candidates for an engineering position within the Groundwater section within the Plant Division at the Mission Operations complex. Responsibilities may include performing office and field engineering assessments, investigations, measurements, computations, and design related to the performance, repair, or replacement of wells and well pumps, on-site sodium hypochlorite generation systems, arsenic treatment plants, booster pumps and pump stations, water reservoirs, transmission pipelines, and related water production, pumping, and storage infrastructure. Duties may also include technical engineering reviews of multidisciplinary consultant-designed projects and engineering support during construction activities. This position offers the opportunity to obtain New Mexico Water System Operator certifications. The successful candidate may be hired at the Engineering Assistant, Engineering Assistant II, Engineering Associate, Senior Engineer, or Principal Engineer level based on education, experience, professional licensure, and demonstrated competencies. Salary, duties, and responsibilities will be commensurate with the engineering classification at which the selected candidate is hired. Minimum Education and Experience
Engineer Assistant • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering • 0-1 years of related engineering experience • Salary: $29.26/hour ($60,860.80 annually) Engineer Assistant II • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering • EIT certification required • Salary: $32.76/hour ($68,140.80 annually) Engineer Associate: • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering • EIT certification required • 2 years of experience or Master’s Degree required • Salary: $36.27/hour ($75,441.60) Senior Engineer • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering • Professional Engineer (PE) license required • 5+ years of advanced engineering experience to include 2 years supervisory in a management and/or administrative capacity • Experience leading projects, mentoring staff, and providing technical guidance • Salary: $40.23 - $49.05/hour ($83,678.40 - $102,024 annually) Principal Engineer • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering • Professional Engineer (PE) license required • 6+ years of advanced engineering experience to include 4 years supervisory in a management and/or administrative capacity • Experience managing projects, supervising staff, and providing technical guidance • Salary: $46.22 - $56.34/hour ($96,137.60 - $117,187.20 annually)
