SAFETY MANAGER
Job Description:
Work as Safety Manager on a large utility scale power generation and transmission portfolios. This position will, create, review, oversee, manage, and make recommendations to be implemented to Contractor, Client, Sub-contractor and Summit Energy Group, LLC(SEG); Environmental Health and Safety. This position will also oversee EHS compliance for the Client and SEG workers including training.

Pay:
DOE $65-$70 per hour (hourly, non-exempt)

Preferred Background:
· Four-year Occupation safety/health degree or equivalent combination of training or experience
· Must have 2 years verifiable experience as a construction safety professional
Required Skill Sets:
· Professional level of knowledge of OSHA, State Specific OSHA, and NFPA
· Safety plan creation and auditing
· Provide functional oversight and coordination of onsite EHS personnel
· Organizational skills
· Computer skills with MS word, Excel, Outlook, Procore, and MS PowerPoint
· Communication with third parties and executives
· Construction means and method knowledge
Job Responsibilities:
· Review and comment on safety plans and programs
· Management of Client and Client Consultant training programs
· Management of consultant training programs by third parties
· Hazard analysis
· Incident investigation and root cause analysis
· Corrective action creation and implementation
· EHS plan auditing for compliance
· Management of Client onsite EHS professionals
· Unifier reporting
· Continuous improvement plan creation and implementation
· Interface with state or national level OSHA
· Provide contractor safety oversight and act as representative of SEG and Client to verify EHS practices, training, policies, and procedure are followed.
· Maintain positive working relationships with project management, site personnel, and contractors
· Verify that contractors, client and SEG have established safety metrics and key performance measures
· Complete documented site walks of the construction project and inspection of trade workforce and conduct field safety observations
· Assist SEG and Contractors with the planning and hazard mitigation identified high hazard contractor activities
· Assist in the development of safety readiness reviews to include written program review, verification of training certifications, hazard assessments, and logistic plans
· Provide weekly status reports to Client
· Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal policies
· Lead daily safety briefings and toolbox talks with construction crews and subcontractors.
· Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety violations; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions
· Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety planning into construction schedules
· Maintain and update safety documentation, including JSAs, SWPPPs, and site-specific safety plans.
· Train and mentor field personnel on safety procedures, PPE usage, and emergency response protocols
· Monitor environmental conditions and site hazards, including weather-related risks and equipment safety
· Ensure proper signage, barricades, and safety equipment are in place and maintained
· Liaise with regulatory agencies during inspections and ensure timely resolution of any citations or findings
· Track and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement

Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach for extended periods on construction jobsites.
· Ability to traverse uneven terrain and work in varied weather conditions typical of outdoor construction environments.
· Ability to distinguish color‑coded wiring where required for safety‑critical electrical work, with reasonable accommodation where feasible.
· Ability to wear required PPE and comply with all site safety protocols.

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour

Experience:
