Flores Food Group builds and runs workplace hospitality programs at industrial sites across New York, Ohio, and Kentucky. Fuel Line is our new coffee bar at Ford's Cleveland Engine Plant, serving espresso, drip, iced, frozen, and energy drinks alongside Flores Fresh Life food.
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel in crafting high-quality beverages, leading a team of baristas, and providing exceptional customer service. This role offers an opportunity to showcase leadership skills in a dynamic coffee shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to company standards, including espresso drinks, drip, iced, frozen and blended, and Red Bull energy refreshers.
- Prepare Flores Fresh Life food items — sandwiches, smoothies, and salads — working alongside the kitchen staff.
- Lead and motivate a team of baristas to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
- Run the bar through shift-change rushes without sacrificing speed or quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace, including daily espresso machine cleaning and equipment maintenance.
- Manage inventory — count product against par, submit orders on schedule, and track smallwares.
- Train new staff members on beverage preparation, customer service, and safety procedures.
- Uphold health and safety regulations at all times, including all Ford plant safety and PPE requirements.
- Engage with customers to create a welcoming atmosphere and handle any inquiries or concerns.
- Assist in managing daily store operations and ensuring sales goals are met.
- Execute seasonal menu changes and help promote new drinks and Fresh Life items.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a barista, with leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage presentation.
- Experience on a semi-automatic espresso machine preferred.
- Comfortable with food prep. Food handler certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including occasional weekends and holidays for plant events.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet Ford plant site access requirements.
