About the Role
Insight Surgery help surgeons plan the most complex surgeries, designing and manufacturing cutting edge patient-specific medical devices, including anatomical models, surgical cutting guides and complex custom implants partnering with a number of large institutions across the USA and with the NHS in the UK.
We are also expanding our business in the United States using our unique Point of Care service model and looking for a passionate Printer Technician to join our growing team. The role will involve working closely with the engineering and commercial teams, manufacturing 3D anatomical models and patient specific guides that directly support surgeons and improve patient outcomes by ensuring delivery of these devices is on time for surgery.

This role is located in the Houston, Texas and directly report to Insight Surgery’s Head of Engineering in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor all 3D printing/post-processing equipment used for patient specific device and anatomical model production, ensuring successful and high quality prints and devices.
- Inspect the final printed parts to verify accuracy, quality and completeness.
- Packaging and shipping of devices according to company procedures.
- Maintain documentation and traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
- Ensure compliance with the ISO 13485/QSMR compliant Quality Management System.
- Reporting and investigating non-conformancies alongside to the Quality team.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of all 3D printing and associated equipment in accordance with company procedures.
- Manage scheduling, inventory and other activities to ensure efficient execution of the manufacturing process.
- Work closely with Commercial, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure devices are delivered on time for surgery.
- Provide feedback on design improvements for additive manufacturing.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
- Experience of working with 3D printer technology, including FDM, SLA and SLS.
- Experience working with 3D printing preparation software.
- Experience of post-processing and finishing techniques.
- Strong organisational and documentation skills.
- Ability to follow regulated manufacturing procedures with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Specific Knowledge & Skills
- Experience with PreForm and Cura software.
- Experience working in a cleanroom or sterile product environment.
- Experience of patient specific device production.
- Experience working with a Quality Management System such as ISO 13485.
Salary & Benefits
- Core working hours 0900-1800, Monday to Friday.
- 18 days annual holiday allowance plus 9 vacation days.
