Duties
- Assist with menu planning to ensure balanced, appealing meal options that meet dietary needs and preferences
- Prepare and cook food items using proper techniques, including slicing, chopping, and food assembly, adhering to established recipes and safety standards
- Handle food with care, following strict food safety management protocols to prevent contamination and ensure freshness
- Support catering services by preparing large quantities of meals for special events or group settings
- Serve meals efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, adhering to safety standards in production and food handling
- Follow all safety procedures related to food preparation, storage, and sanitation to uphold health regulations
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide with knowledge of meal planning and food preparation techniques
- Strong background in food industry roles such as restaurant or catering experience, demonstrating proficiency in kitchen operations
- Excellent knife skills with precise slicing techniques essential for efficient food prep
- Knowledge of food safety standards in production environments and effective food handling practices
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure while maintaining high quality standards
- Familiarity with culinary concepts including cooking methods, food service, and meal presentation
