Job Summary
Vertical Doors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Designer with advanced SolidWorks skills to join our team at our Lake Elsinore facility.
This position will begin as a project-based role. Because we continually develop new products and engineering projects, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to transition into ongoing full-time employment based on performance and company needs.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with mechanical design, product development, prototyping, and manufacturing documentation. Candidates should be comfortable taking a project from an initial concept through modeling, drawings, testing, and production.
Responsibilities
- Create accurate 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
- Design and revise mechanical components and assemblies
- Convert concepts, measurements, and prototypes into production-ready CAD files
- Apply appropriate dimensions, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing requirements
- Create and maintain bills of materials and engineering documentation
- Review existing designs and recommend improvements
- Assist with prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and design revisions
- Collaborate with fabrication, manufacturing, and management teams
- Manage assigned projects and meet established deadlines
Required Qualifications
- Experience in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, or product development
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Experience creating parts, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings
- Understanding of tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Strong mechanical problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with the team
- Ability to work on-site at our Lake Elsinore location
- Portfolio or examples of previous SolidWorks projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience in automotive products, fabrication, manufacturing, or aftermarket accessories
- Experience with reverse engineering, prototyping, and design for manufacturing
- Experience moving products from concept through production
Position Details
This is an on-site, project-based position. There is strong potential for the selected candidate to remain with Vertical Doors, Inc. in a full-time capacity after the initial project because we regularly have new product-development and engineering projects.
Compensation: $21-27 hourly
Schedule: Monday-Friday
