Required Qualifications:

Position Overview:
The Facility Lead Custodian is responsible for overseeing school facility use during
non-school hours, ensuring a safe, secure, and well-managed environment for all internal
and external groups utilizing the building while supporting custodial duties.
This role serves as the on-site point of contact during evening events, managing
building access, supporting logistics, and ensuring that all users follow school
policies and expectations.
Core Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Building Monitoring & Access
● Open and close the building for scheduled activities and rentals
● Monitor facility use to ensure safety, security, and appropriate supervision
● Serve as the primary on-site contact for all groups using the building
● Ensure only authorized individuals access the facility and designated spaces
Event & Rental Oversight
● Oversee internal and external group use of the building, including school
programs, community groups, and rentals
● Ensure all groups follow facility use guidelines, expectations, and
approved schedules
● Support basic event logistics, including room access, setup
verification, and transitions between groups
● Address and resolve issues that arise during events in a calm and
professional manner
Safety & Security
● Conduct routine walkthroughs of the building during events
● Ensure doors, entrances, and restricted areas remain secure
● Monitor for safety concerns and respond appropriately
● Follow established protocols for emergencies and report incidents
to administration
● Ensure the building is properly secured at the end of each shift
Facilities Operations
● Communicate and support facilities staff regarding cleaning needs or issues
● Responsible for cleaning assigned areas and covering other custodial needs
● Report maintenance, damage, or facility concerns promptly
● Ensure spaces are left in acceptable condition following use
● Support basic setup or reset of spaces as needed
Communication & Customer Service
● Provide clear, professional communication with staff, families, and
external partners
● Represent the school in a positive and welcoming manner
● Support internal stakeholders while maintaining expectations for external users
● Escalate concerns or issues to administration when necessary

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently
required to stand, climb or balance, push, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and smell. The
employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently, including pushing a
student who uses a wheelchair. Requires a sufficient range of physical strength, endurance,
and mobility to assist in the personal care of students.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work
primarily in a school environment.
Mental Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to communicate, compare, analyze, coordinate, instruct, evaluate, and use

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive hourly compensation package, along with paid sick leave and eligibility for benefits depending on hours worked, and participation in the Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA) as applicable.
Hourly Range: $23-25 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
This position will be for the 2026–2027 school year.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
