What You'll Do In This Role:
Make a meaningful impact every day as a Dietary Aide! In this rewarding role, you'll help create an enjoyable dining experience by preparing, serving, and coordinating nutritious breakfast and lunch meals that support the health and well-being of our participants. Working alongside the Dietitian and a collaborative care team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring meals are delivered with care while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation. Kitchen Safety & Sanitation:
- Adhere to kitchen safety and sanitation standards as outlined by the National Restaurant Association’s Serve Safe Course.
- Recognize and maintain food temperature safety zones and limits for both hot and cold foods, taking corrective actions when needed.
- Ensure food handlers are excluded from work when necessary to prevent foodborne illness.
Dietary Support & Inventory:
- Understand and assist with portion-controlled, therapeutic, and mechanically altered diets as part of participant care plans.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Inventory kitchen, emergency food stores, clinic refrigerator, and nutritional supplement stock; replenish as necessary based on foodservice provider and Dietitian guidance.
- Package home-delivered meals and nutritional supplements for transportation.
Operational Efficiency & Time Management:
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet established timelines.
- Stand for extended periods of time as required by duties.
- Assist co-workers when needed without being asked, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Communicate tactfully and effectively with team members, participants, family members, visitors, and other stakeholders.
- Possess the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Maintain hygienic neatness and cleanliness at all times.
Participant Care & Documentation:
- Assist in providing and maintaining optimal physical and emotional comfort for participants, including performing basic ADL (Activities of Daily Living) care after kitchen duties are completed.
- Provide basic ADL nursing care, including dressing, toileting, transferring, ambulation, and bed mobility, as required.
- Document treatments, procedures, observations, nursing care, and participant activities in medical records accurately.
Professional Development & Compliance:

Meet the standardized competencies for the position as set by Huron Valley PACE and approved by CMS before working independently.

Previous experience in institutional food service or a similar setting.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with frail and elderly individuals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be CPR certified.
