What the role involves
As a Home Health Aide with Asheville Home Health, you may be asked to:
- Document details related to a client’s health and daily activities.
- Offer medication reminders and help follow treatment plans.
- Prepare and serve meals that fit each client’s dietary needs — and provide feeding assistance when required.
- Support mobility and range-of-motion exercises.
- Assist with personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and hair care.
- Help with ambulation, with or without mobility aids.
- Provide assistance with toileting and other routine body functions.
- Keep the home environment safe and tidy through light housekeeping (changing linens, vacuuming, laundry, kitchen/bathroom cleaning).
- Run errands or grocery shop, as requested.
- Provide companionship — whether through conversation, walks, reading aloud, or accompanying clients to appointments.
- Monitor vital signs, track intake/output, and promptly report changes in condition.
- Follow the care plan closely and take on other tasks as needed.
