Resident Superintendent / Maintenance Technician
Forest Living is seeking a full-time Resident Superintendent / Maintenance Technician for an apartment community in Pemberton, New Jersey.We are looking for someone who is friendly, dependable, hands-on, and takes pride in keeping a property clean, welcoming, and running smoothly. This is an on-site position for someone who can work independently, assist residents professionally, and take ownership of the property’s day-to-day needs. Preference will be given to candidates who live nearby and can respond promptly when needed.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the property’s common areas, grounds, and overall appearance.
- Complete apartment turnovers, including painting, cleaning, repairs, and unit preparation.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, and general handyman work.
- Finish punch-list items and clean up after renovation crews, including touch-ups, small unfinished repairs, debris removal, and bringing work areas to a clean, completed condition.
- Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Regularly inspect the property and address maintenance or safety concerns.
- Coordinate with outside contractors when specialized work is needed.
Qualifications
- Previous property maintenance, superintendent, or handyman experience preferred.
- Dependable, organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Willing to take responsibility for completing unfinished details and cleaning up work areas as part of the position.
- Friendly and respectful when working with residents, vendors, and coworkers.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors throughout the year.
- AppFolio or similar software experience is a plus.
Schedule
- Full-time, primarily Monday through Friday.
- Some after-hours and weekend emergency maintenance coverage is required.
- Additional authorized hours will be compensated in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
